Lukas Kobermann conducts with passion and precision – and we notice both from the very first note.

He began playing trumpet at the age of nine, and just one year later he was already performing in his first wind ensemble. Over the years he added horn, voice and eventually conducting to his repertoire – receiving his first conducting lessons in Berlin under Tobias Haußig.

He completed his studies in Music Education and Instrumental Music Education at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2018.

What sets him apart as a conductor is the combination of musical depth and human warmth. In rehearsals he has a gift for making music tangible, allowing his musicians to immerse themselves even more deeply in the music. At the same time, he consistently seeks new perspectives to illuminate and enrich his work.

With his approachable nature, his musical expertise and a generous measure of wit and charm, he inspires his musicians to give their very best. He is also active as an arranger – a conductor who doesn't just lead music, but lives it to the core.

Lukas Kobermann

Lukas brings extensive experience with various ensembles. He began at the podium of the Pfadfinderfanfare Wien, where he conducted until 2020. In 2017, he took over the direction of Blasmusik St. Georg Kagran, where he continues to serve as conductor to this day. Throughout his career, Lukas has repeatedly been engaged as director of youth ensembles in and around Vienna.

In 2026, a trip to China gave him international experience conducting youth wind orchestras, symphony orchestras, and choirs.

All of these impressions led him to co-found Wiener Wind together with Astrid Kutrzeba, with the vision of presenting the wind orchestra in Vienna — the cultural capital — in a modern, urban, and international way, and making it accessible to a broad audience.
